Ten years on from the inception in 2002, Eurospan’s online bookstore – http://www.eurospanbookstore.com – has received a makeover. The new look site now boasts full e-commerce capability while greater functionality enables browsers to create fine subject searches after which match the final results to ranked bestseller lists. Many titles are discounted and there’s a clear indication, in value terms, of the £ amount to be saved on each book just before purchasing. The graphics are sharp and clean and a regularly updated “slider” housing selected book jacket images makes sure that the house page is kept fresh. In acknowledgement of the growing number of international customers, there’s also a “Select Your Language” option. Finally, and in keeping with all the practice of other leading online bookstores with whom we compete, all orders have become shipped FREE.
Now featuring more than 130,000 titles from over 125 different publishers (up from 75 at launch), the site’s focus remains on academic and professional titles in a wide array of subjects and targeted at most readership levels. Along with traditional print books, CDs and DVDs, the site now includes digital products. While the initial offering in this field is modest, it’s anticipated that, by the end of 2012, greater than 1,000 e-books will be provided by the shop.
“We are delighted using what our in-house team, together with web developer Nude Website design, has delivered” comments Michael Geelan, Eurospan’s Chairman and MD. “The upgraded store is now a much more attractive shop window for your diverse brands, while the enhanced search capability should make sure that previously hard-to-find titles will more discoverable from now on”.
